Student astronomer finds galactic missing matter

Half of the universe's matter is 'missing', but a PhD student has developed an ingenious method to help track it down. She has done this using distant galaxies as 'locator pins' to detect an otherwise 'invisible' cold clump of gas just 10 light years from Earth.
